More on Percival Graves played by Colin Farrell

The prequel of Harry Potter with Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander the magizoologist will have the theatrical premiere on November 18. You can have look at other premieres that we know so far here.

On November 18 screens open for the Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which will take you to the magical world of North America and also will mark the debut of J.K. Rowling as a writer. Little by little we know more details of its history and its protagonist, Newt Scamander the magizoologist (Eddie Redmayne, The Theory of Everything). However, we hardly know anything about other characters. This is a case on the mysterious and enigmatic Percival Graves, the relentless Auror, who is given life by Colin Farrell, the famous Irish actor.

Like the rest of the characters in Fantastic Beasts, Percival Graves (Colin Farrell) is a magician who lived in New York in the early twentieth century. Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) know him during his stay in the Big Apple in 1926, as the Director of Safety Magic US Congress, also known by the acronym of Macusa. Graves is the right hand of Seraphina Picquery, president of this organization, and is ordered to investigate Newt and the loss of several magical creatures that live inside his suitcase. But what else do we know about Percival Graves?

His connection with the Deathly Hallows

Skilled with magic with and without his wand, Graves is not happy with the status that requires the magical community of North America to remain secret and to live apart from the ‘non-majs’, the ‘muggles’ of US. It is not confirmed, but it is believed that his wand was made by Johannes Jonker because of its inlaid mother of pearl. As if that were not enough, one of his ancestors is Gondulphus Graves, one of the original 12 aurores of the Macusa. But perhaps most interesting is the poster that appears next to a pendant with the symbol of the Deathly Hallows. Will we see the Elder Wand, the Invisibility Cloak and the Resurrection Stone in the film? Is the same Xenophilius Lovegood wearing pendant, Luna’s father in The Deathly Hallows? The less, Graves is hiding something, especially because of his relationship with the no less mysterious Credence (Ezra Miller).

With J.K. Rowling and the director David Yates, we know that the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald will acquire more importance as the series progresses, which will be composed of five films. Relics are also associated with the name of Grindelwald. Will Percival Graves be one of his followers? Until we can clear our doubts, do not miss the official trailer of the film.
