Thunderbird on Empire November Cover

Are you ready to dive back into the magical world of Harry Potter? Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the prequel to the saga of the wizard boy created by J.K. Rowling, hits the theaters on November 18 and will be fraught with new magical creatures. The main character, Newt Scamander played by Eddie Redmayne, meets a new community of wizards and witches in New York in 1926.

Sneak peek videos have allowed us to take a first look at the different animals that escape from magizoologist’s suitcase and run freely through the American city. One that has attracted most attention is the Thunderbird, a magical creature that is capable of generating storms by flapping her wings. In addition, one of the Ilvermorny Houses is named after this legendary creature that appears in the mythology of several indigenous communities in North America.

Indeed, Thunderbird is the star of the cover of the November issue of Empire that will be also available online. In addition, Newt Scamander appears next to Thunderbird at the top of a roof with his suitcase, his Hufflepuff scarf and his wand, ready to retrieve the gang of magical animals that have escaped.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them follows Newt Scamander (Redmayne), a magizoologist who arrives in New York with his old reliable suitcase full of magical creatures that he has collected in his travels around the world. In this new adventure, his suitcase is opened unexpectedly and many magical animals that he carries within it are released. Then, Newt discovers that the magical community of North America hides fearfully from nomaj (muggles) and exposure of magic in public has worse consequences in USA than in the UK.
