Porpentina “Tina” Scamander (nee Goldstein) was the wife of Newt Scamander, former employee of the British Ministry of Magic, director of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and published author. She lived with her husband in Dorset with their pets Kneazles; Hoppy, Milly and Mauler. After her grandson, Rolf, married Luna Lovegood, became the great-grandmother of twin boys Lorcan and Lysander.

Early life

Porpentina was born somewhere in the United States and probably studied at Ilvermorny. She had at least one younger sister, Quennie Goldstein. They had lost their parents at an early age as they looked after each other, and a bond that lasted into adulthood.

She was nicknamed Tina by her family and friends. Her surname suggests his Jewish origin.

Career and marriage

Porpentina with magical powers worked in the US Congress, she was demoted from his position as an Auror to a position below her capabilities.

In 1926, Porpentina met magizoologist Newton Scamander in New York, where he had gone as part of his expedition in search of magical creatures. Eventually they have got married and had at least one son, who gave them a grandson named Rolf.

Later life

Presently she is living in Dorset with her husband Newt and three pet Kneazles, Hoppy, Milly, and Mauler.
